Preface: Thanks to @runoneall for the inspiration, and thanks to @James for agreeing to develop this!
I’ve made NodeLoc into an MCP—you can install it on clients like Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cherry Studio, Cline, and then operate the forum directly with natural language commands like:
- “Show me the latest posts”
- “Check me in”
- “Send a red packet with 100 energy, split into 10 shares in this thread”
- “Tip the author of this post 50 energy”
There are a total of 42 tools, divided into several categories:
-
Forum basics: browse latest/hot/category, read posts, create posts, reply, private message, like, favorite, vote
-
NodeLoc features: browse/join/create nested communities (Nodes), chat channels, daily check-in, send red packets, energy tipping, view points details/leaderboards
-
Official payment API: create payment, query orders, energy transfer (app registration required in payment/applications)
-
Knowledge base: search docs.nodeloc.com documentation (using llms.txt index)
-
Mini programs: wrapper for nodeloc-apps CLI
-
Authentication uses Cookie-based sessions (hoping @james can open up user-api-key): after login, the session is saved locally and automatically relogs in if expired; supports 2FA
Configuration is very simple (environment variables):
NODELOC_USERNAME=your username
NODELOC_PASSWORD=your password
node dist/index.js
Runs completely locally—no worries about account leaks!
